The development and expansion of the Cold Storage facilities associated with the Sridharpur Co-operative Bank proceeded as follows:
The resolution for the construction of a Cold store was adopted on 17 October 1976 at a special general meeting.
In 1977, the Cold store was constructed with a capacity of 4,000 M.T. During this year, the potato business also expanded.
The second chamber of the Cold store was constructed in 1979, increasing the total capacity to 9,300 M.T.
Godowns were also developed at the Cold store yard at Sankarpur:
The most recent expansion noted was in 2007, when the third chamber of the Cold storage was constructed. This new chamber added 5,630 M.T., bringing the total capacity to 14,930 M.T.
Prior to the establishment of the cold storage, the marketing of Potato had started in 1972.
